New Year's Eve Festivities

    Wondering what to do this New Year's Eve? The Old Town Pub and Tugboat Grill & Pub have long been locals' favorites for celebrating this holiday, but Steamboat has grown up and has a lot more to offer these days! Below are all your NYE options in the 'Boat, so you can make an informed decision for your night!

    Harwigs'L'Apogee: Class it up a bit with a celebration at Harwigs this year. Their party starts after dark and features DJ Skippa and DJ Raney, with free champagne toast at midnight.

    Sweetwater Grill: New Orleans based guitarist and vocalist Billy Franklin brings in the New Year at Sweetwater Grill with a lineup of local talent including Eric Barry on drums, Skip Warnke on the funky bass, and Dank Koebnik on guitar. 9:00pm, Free.

    Mahogany Ridge Brewery & Grill: Mahogany celebrates the New Year with Boulder-based Salem, a group that has been touring nationally for six years at festivals, club and action sports events from ski movie premieres to the X-Games. 9pm, $10.

    Tugboat Grill & Pub: Dance away the New Year at Tugboat with music by Buckner Funken Jazz, a rowdy eight-piece band that combines old-school funk and bebop in the style of Parliament, The Funky Meters and Karl Denson. 9:30pm, cost TBA.

    Old Town Pub & Restaurant: NYE at the Pub means a laser light show and late-night dance party with local electro jam rockers String Board Theory. Blues rock due Mountain Devils opens and DjMT plays a dirty dubstep setbreak. 9:30pm, $10 advance, $12 day of.

    The Tap House Sports Grill: Dueling DJs Melissa Alpart and Erika Davies will help ring in 2012 with rowdy dance music. 10pm, Free.

    Bella's Wine Bar: Cozy up in the cellar wine bar downtown for a posh celebration of the New Year. Ring in 2012 with dancing and a champagne toast, or table service with tapas and champagne. Wear your classiest Steamboat style. Tickets are $50 or $100 for bottle service. 9pm.

    Bear River Bar & Grill: Jolly Demis, a comedian from Comedy Works in Denver will perform at this special New Year’s Eve comedy show. There also will be multiple sets from Fijian reggae artist Wise 100 Doors. The cost is $45 per person and includes appetizers. Advance reservations are encouraged.
